Adding Gradients to Backgrounds in CSS3

This is a very important inclusion done in the CSS3 specification and equally well implemented in all modern web browsers. This basically refers to the gradient like background which can be provided to any Html element. Earlier an element could only have background of any one particular color -- yellow, red, green. But, never a combination of them in a linear, radial, or any other pattern. Now, with new CSS3 feature an element can be given color combination patterns in form of gradients.

There are two kinds of gradients:

  • Linear Gradient
  • Radial Gradient
