Overview

  • <input type="submit"> or <button type="submit"> can be used to make a submit button.
  • On clicking the submit button all data in form (present on page) is sent to the server.

Submit Button in HTML Form

Submit button is used to submit all the form values to a server page. Whatever details you put in a form (like name, address, gender, etc.) all remains on the client-side or browser till you hit the submit button. At this moment the data goes to the server-side to some server-side script (.php, .asp, .jsp, etc.) and then further saved in the database.

You may use either <input type="submit"> or <button type="submit"> to create a submit button next to a form.
