Block Elements in HTML

Block elements are those elements which take full horizontal space on a web page. Their behavior is exactly opposite to inline elements.

<div> Div is a block element. </div>

<p> Paragraph is a block element. </p>

Block elements do not stack together in the same line or with other elements. When you add multiple block elements one after another -- each will go in a separate line.

  <p>This is a paragraph.</p>
  <div>This is a div.</div>
  <section>This is a section.</section>
